KCM Investment Advisors requires a minimum of 10 years of business experience for those involved in managing investments for clients. All portfolios are managed by Jay A. Kellett,  John A. Lundin, John C. Pogue, William L. Prince, and Donald O. Jesberg.

Jay A. KellettJay A. Kellett
Founder – CEO/CIO

Mr. Kellett received a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he also attended the Graduate School of Business and Finance. In January of 1970, Mr. Kellett joined Smith Barney & Co. in the corporate bond department in New York and was transferred to San Francisco as a member of the institutional fixed income department. In 1981, Mr. Kellett joined Merrill Lynch as a Sr. Vice President to establish the firm’s West Coast fixed income department, and in 1988 joined Prudential Securities as Senior Vice President and Western Regional Manager. Mr. Kellett is a highly esteemed specialist in the areas of investment management analytics, technology systems and design. His professional qualifications include designations as a General Securities Principal, Registered Options Principal, Universal State Securities Representative, Interest Rate Options Principal, Commodities Futures Principal, and Municipal Securities Principal. Mr. Kellett founded KCM in 1996.

John A. LundinJohn A. Lundin
Partner and Portfolio Manager

Mr. Lundin graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1973 with a BA degree in Economics. He received an MBA in finance from Golden Gate University in 1981. Mr. Lundin began his career with the U.S. Department of the Treasury – Comptroller of the Currency as a National Bank Examiner in 1973. In 1977, he joined Bank of America in the Credit Examination Department – bank-wide, which monitored major credits worldwide and loan losses. In 1981, he joined Scudder, Stevens and Clark, later renamed Scudder Investments. He was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager in charge of the Private Investment Counsel Group in San Francisco which specialized in equity and fixed income securities for high net worth individuals. Mr. Lundin joined KCM in 2000.

John C. Pogue
President and Portfolio Manager

Mr. Pogue graduated from Trinity College, Hartford CT, in 1966 with a BA degree in economics. Following three years of active duty as a Naval officer aboard the USS Regulus, Mr. Pogue began his investment career in 1970 with Wells Fargo Bank as a municipal bond trader and, eventually, as Vice President in charge of the taxable bond department. In 1976, Mr. Pogue joined the institutional bond department of A.G. Becker (acquired by Merrill Lynch), and in 1979 opened and managed a West Coast office for Briggs, Schaedel & Co. (a Primary Government Dealer). In 1983, Mr. Pogue became a Sr. Vice President at Dean Witter Reynolds with West Coast responsibility for institutional taxable fixed income securities. In 1997, Mr. Pogue started Pogue Capital Management. Mr. Pogue joined KCM in 2003.

William L. Prince, CFA
CCO and Head Equity Trader/Analyst

Mr. Prince was born in 1956, and serves as KCM’s Chief Compliance and Chief Operating Officer since 2000. Bill graduated with Bachelors of Arts cum laude majoring in Philosophy and Music in 1978 from Boston University, and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003. Mr. Prince has considerable private client and institutional experience, having held positions of Director of Investment Management Services at RNC Capital Management in Los Angeles, California 1986-1988 , Senior Regulatory Securities Accountant with Jefferies and Co., Los Angeles, California 1988-1992, and Vice President and Director of Operations at Wall Street Associates, La Jolla, California from 1992 to 2000 where he served on the Investment Policy Committee for two hedge funds and leading national SMID Growth managers. Mr. Prince provides considerable expertise in the areas of benchmark analytics, stock screening, research, trading and trading technology. Mr. Prince has been a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts since 1999 and the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of San Francisco since 2004.  Mr. Prince joined KCM in 2000.

Donald O. Jesberg
Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Born in 1955, Don has served as Senior Portfolio Manager since 2006. Mr. Jesberg graduated from the University of Southern California in 1977 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Don has been in the investment business for more than 30 years with various brokerage and investment advisory firms. Prior to joining KCM Don served as Vice President at Reynolds Capital Management in Larkspur, California working with individually managed portfolios and serving as an officer for the Reynolds Funds, Inc.  Mr. Jesberg joined KCM in 2006.

Michelle Durgy
Senior Portfolio Manager

Michelle was the Chief Investment Officer for the City and County of San Francisco, where she was the lead Portfolio Manager on an $8.5 billion-dollar portfolio. Michelle graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine, in 1996. Additionally, she holds a Master of Public Policy degree, with a finance focus, from the University of Southern California. Michelle started her financial career at Morgan Stanley, where she was the Regional Financial Planning Specialist for the Northern California region.  At Fieldman, Rolapp and Associates, Michelle performed quantitative analysis for municipal bond structuring and analyzed floating swaps for nonprofit entities, such as the Getty Trust. She has served as the lead Investment Consultant for the Southern California region with PFM Asset Management and as an Investment Officer and Assistant Portfolio Manager for the County of San Diego, where she oversaw a $6.5 billion-dollar portfolio. Michelle is a member of the Strategic Advisory Committee for the CFA Society of San Francisco and has served as the President and a board member of the California Municipal Treasurers Association.  Ms. Durgy joined KCM in 2017.

Raymond J. Randolph
Director of Retail Marketing

Principal, Director of Retail Marketing, graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics. He has more than eighteen years of experience in financial services, including banking and securities brokerage. Immediately prior to joining KCM, Ray spent seven years with Charles Schwab and Co. as a financial consultant where he was responsible for business development and advice solutions for retail clients. Mr. Randolph joined KCM in 2005.

Mary P. Coyne
Managing Director, Human Resources and Client Services

Ms. Coyne received her paralegal certificate from San Francisco State University worked in the legal field in San Francisco for over 18 years before joining KCM.  Ms. Coyne manages client communications and portfolio administration.  She also serves as liaison with custodian banks and brokerage firms.  Ms. Coyne joined KCM in 2000.

Noelle Vranjes
Director of Municipal Research and Trading

Ms. Vranjes joined KCM in 2003 has been a significant force in KCM’s growth and success spearheading inter-departmental tasks in portfolio accounting, trading and trade settlements.  She has also been instrumental in steering the development of our municipal credit team.  Ms. Vranjes began dedicating the majority of her time to municipal research and trading in 2005 and has since become KCM’s Senior Municipal Credit Analyst and lead municipal trader.  Ms. Vranjes completed her undergraduate studies with a B.S. in International Business from San Francisco State University and is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.  As part of her ongoing education, Ms. Vranjes attends numerous forums and seminars on the municipal market in a bid to keep timely information and discussion at the forefront of KCM’s analysis process.  Ms. Vranjes joined KCM in 2003.

Daniel D’Orazio
Assistant Portfolio Manager, Director of Taxable Fixed Income Research

Danny joined KCM in 2006 working with our senior fixed income team. As a senior specialist for our corporate and foreign issued debt portfolios Mr. D’Orazio has been instrumental in driving the success of KCM  in our analysis, portfolio decision-making, trade review, trade execution, portfolio reporting and monitoring functions.  A graduate of St. Mary’s College of California with a degree in Business and Minor in Economics in 2006.

Jason Love
Assistant Portfolio Manager, CTO

Jason joined KCM in 2006 and serves as the firm’s IT Industry Analyst, Preferred Securities Analyst, Senior Equity Trader and Assistant Portfolio Manager.  Jason is also the company’s Chief Technology Officer. After a career that gave Mr. Love a strong and diverse background in Silicon Valley’s information technology industry, at KCM Jason has spearheaded several value added projects that has delivered considerable tools and analysis for KCM managers, consultants and clients.  Jason graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
